The following text is taken from Materials for architectural design by Victoria Ballard Bell and Patrick Rand. The book was published in 2006 by Laurence King Publishing Ltd.
“The use of cast-in-place concrete allowed this building to be a seamless monolithic mass, free of the joints and the elemental expression of precast concrete. This visual quality is well suited to this building, which is meant to be dense and secure when viewed from outside.”
The small ‘rusty’ building, designed by Gigon & Guyer, was constructed in 1999. It is located near the Duttweilerbrücke on the edge of the rail yard.
